Mary (Davies) Doman (standing far right). Mary and her friends or relations look like they are on holiday at a sea-side resort. I do not know any of the other people. However I haven't many photos of Mary and also the man sitting in front of her may be her husband (Joseph Leonard Doman) from her first marriage.

Lucy and Esther were sisters, Doris was Lucy's daughter (my mum) and Mary was a friend of the family and later in life after Lucy died she married Lucy's husband John William Jones.

Mary Davies (Later Doman and then Jones), Mabel Grubham and Francis Cuthbert Jones.

Frank and Mary went out together before Frank met and married Amy Court from Doddenham. Mabel was the daughter of Harry and Alice Grubham and Harry's sister Lucy (Grubham) Jones was Frank's mum.

In the 1939 Register I found the following information:
Address: 59 Priory Road, Dudley C.B., Worcestershire, England.
Mary E Jones (Doman) DOB: 3rd April 1900, Widowed, Occupation: Fire Grade Range Knob Packer.
Lily M. Bruton DOB: 28th March 1885, Widowed, Occupation: Unpaid Domestic Duties.
Barbara Bruton (Later Hunt) DOB: 24th May 1916, Single, Occupation: Elementary School Teacher.

This confirmed Mary's date of birth, that she was a widower, (her husband Joseph Doman died, april qtr. 1937, Dudley, aged 37. ) where she lived and her job.

Lily Maud Bruton was a witness at her marriage to my grandfather in 1952 (Also a D. M. Bruton was a witness at her marriage to Joseph Doman in 1930, this may have been Lily's mother or sister).

I have looked at the 1901 census of Mary's father Thomas Davies and her sisters are Lily and Diana Davies. So it may well be that Lily is Mary's sister and married a Bruton and possibly Diana also married a Bruton.

Mary's second marriage was to my Grandfather, John William Jones. They moved to Haywood Cottage at the top of Ankerdine Hill, Knightwick, Worcestershire after their marriage on Saturday, 1st November 1952.

4 years later Grandpa died, on the 9th December, 1956 (Aged 79) and was buried with his first wife, Lucy (Grubham) Jones, on the 12th December, 1956, at Knightwick Chapel.

Mary had a close friend and she sold Haywood Cottage and moved away to the coast with her, after the death of Grandpa.
