These
are superb photos of both my grandparents. They may not
have been married long when they had the one of them taken together, they are both wearing carnations, grandpa is
holding a boater, they both look very smart.
They were married in 1900, so according to the information I found about USA Studios, it had to be later than that, probably between 1909 and 1912.
The other photograph
is of my grandmother taken by the same company at some later date.
The mounts
are rather interesting. I think they went to Birmingham to have these
photos taken, as they both have Provincial Branch on the cover. See the information on U.S.A. Studios below.
The trade plate of U.S.A. Studios, as featured on mounted portrait photographs produced between 1909 and 1912.
The embossed "American Eagle" emblem which appeared on the photographic card mounts produced by U.S.A. Studios between 1909 and 1915.
The back of this card shows an address in Birmingham, '99 Corporation Street'. So perhaps this is where they went for the photos to be taken.
