This photograph shows Mabel Lloyd Hayward. Mabel was my mothers cousin, she had been raised at the Post Office by her uncle John William Jones (our grandfather) and may still have been lliving there when Josephine was born.

Josephine Lucy Holland was born in Brignorth on the 5th April, 1939, mum and dad were living at, 1 Laurel Villas, Oldbury, Bridgnorth, Salop at that time. Dad was a Railway Porter. Almost three years later Mabel married Sidney Ralph Ganderton, on Saturday, 14th February, 1942, at Knightwick Church, Worcestershire.

This photograph is of Josephine when she was 2 years old. The second world war began on the year Josephine was born, and lasted until she was 6 years old. This photo may well have been taken on her 2nd birthday 5th May, 1941.

Her brother Graham John Holland
was born the following year, on 15th March, 1942.
