Here is a lovely family photograph of, left to right: Edgar William Jones, Williie Charles Coles, Gwendoline Nellie (Coles) Jones, Norman Lloyd Jones, Lucy (Grubham) Jones, Bessie Clara (Turner) Coles, Doreen Margaret Jones. Sitting around a table, on the lawn at the Post Office, Knightwick. The photograph, taken by Reginald Lloyd Jones, is of his in-laws, the Coles, his wife Gwen their three children Doreen, Norman and Edgar and his mother Lucy.

We may have our barbecues now, but in those days it used to be afternoon tea and cakes.

I always have to smile when ever I see photographs on the lawn at Knightwick, because you can usually see the outside toilet roof in the background.

This was not changed until I was about 8 years old, in 1957. It was certainly better to have an inside toilet than getting up on a cold night and venturing outside with a torch!

Another photograph of the family, this time taken by Reg's father-in-law, Mr Coles.

Norman and Doreen

Here the family are on Clevedon Beach near Weston Super-mare. From left, Norman Lloyd Jones, Reginald Lloyd Jones, George Covington, Vera Bessie Primrose (Coles) Covington, Doreen Margaret Jones, Bessie Clara (Turner) Coles, Gwendoline Nellie (Coles) Jones with youngest son Edgar William Jones and William Charles Coles.
