Harry and Alice Grubham

Harry Grubham

Henry Grubham and his wife Alice Mary (Baker) Grubham, sitting in deckchairs with their dog. Probably on their lawn at Clifton-on-Teme, where they lived.

Henry Grubham was a Postman. Here he is collecting post from one of the local Royal Mail Post Boxes

Henry (Harry) Grubham was the fifth child of Philip and Eliza Grubham. He was Born: 3rd May 1883 and baptised 3rd May, 1883, at Knightwick Church, Worcestershire (The Rector was J. B. Wilson). He Married: Alice Mary Baker, on Thursday 2nd January, 1908, at St. Johns Church, Worcester. They had a daughter Mabel Grubham, who was Born: 10th November 1908 and baptised on the 20th December, 1908 at Knightwick Church, Worcestershire (by the Rector, J. B. Wilson). They were living at Darby's Common at that time. I found a further record of another daughter Ada Grubham Born: 13th March 1921 who may have died as a baby. They were living at Woodbine Cottage at that time and the records show Harry as a Postman. All the time I remember them they lived at, 2. Old Road, Clifton-on-Teme, Worcestershire. Harry Died: 29th November 1964 (aged 81 years) Epitaph: Fell asleep now at rest [100] Alice Died: February 1968 and is buried in the same grave at Knightwick Chapel, Worcestershire.

I have done some research on Alice's family the Bakers. You can view Census forms here
