Mabel along with her younger sister Doris Hayward lived with their Uncle and Aunty at the Post Office Knightwick. This meant that she grew up with my Mother Doris Eliza Jones.

My Mother married John Edward Holland (Ted) on the 16th April 1938. Their first child was Josephine Lucy Holland.
Born: 5th April, 1939, at Bridgenorth.

The above photographs were taken on the day she was baptised, Sunday, 18th June, 1939. Mabel would be 22 years old.

In the top left photograph are Mabel, then Alice Mary (Baker) Grubham (married to Henry Grubham, brother to Lucy) and Lucy (Grubham) Jones holding Josephine (her granddaughter). Then in front Doreen Margaret Jones and Norman Lloyd Jones (The daughter and son of Reginald Lloyd Jones, son of Lucy)

Doris and Mabel were first cousins.

Two photographs of Sidney Ralph Ganderton, Mabel is by his side in both. They may not have been marrried at this point but just starting to go out with each other. They married on, Saturday, 14th February, 1942. So this may well have been at the start of WW11. In the left photo (Ned) Albert Edward Ganderton and his wife to be Joan Kathleen Ganderton and in the right photo (Betty) Mary Elizabeth Ganderton. Joan and Betty were Sid's sisters.
