John William Jones
Relationship to Philip Holland
John and Catherine (Lloyd) Jones were my Great-great Grandparents.
William and Ann Ellison were my Great-great Grandparents too.
John Jones son John Lloyd Jones married William and Ann's daughter Harriet Ellison and they were my Great Grandparents.
John Lloyd Jones son *John William Jones married Lucy Grubham from Doddenham, Worcestershire and they were my Grandparents.
There daughter Doris Eliza Jones married John Edward Holland and they were my mother and father.
John Jones was a Head Gardener and obviously taught his son John Lloyd Jones all about gardening. John Lloyd Jones is seen on some of the marriage certificates of his children as a Gardener / Landscaper.
*John William Jones after his first wife's death married Mary Elizabeth Doman (nee Davies) who's first husband *Joseph Leonard Doman died.Information:
Lily Maud's husband was Henry Bruton. They married December qtr., 1906, Dudley.
Lily's nee name was Moss.Thomas Davies married Mary Ann Moss in September qtr., 1896, Dudley.
So Lily Bruton and Mary Ann Davies could well have been sisters.
Thomas and Mary Ann Davies had three daughters. Lily, Diana & *Mary Elizabeth Davies.
When *Mary married her first husband *Joseph Leonard Doman, 27th December, 1930, her dad was on the certificate as Formerly Iron Furnace man.
In *Mary's second marriage to my grandfather *John William Jones, 1st November, 1952. her father Thomas was deceased.1911 Census.

Born: StaffordshireThe 1901, 1911 & 1921 census forms show *Joseph Leonard Doman. (No relation to direct family) I have included him in the genealogy site of my family as he was married to *Mary Elizabeth Davies on the 27th December 1930. He died in 1937, and this may well have been an accident in the factory that he worked in as he was an Iron Moulder.
After his death but many years later his wife *Mary married my grandfather John William Jones on Saturday, 1st November, 1952.
My Grandmother, Lucy (Grubham) Jones had died on the 12th June, 1951 after a long illness.
*Grandpa and *Mary had been friends for many years and Mary had also once been my Uncle Frank's girlfriend!
Return to:
*Mary (Davies) Doman is (standing far right). If I was to take a guess based on the 1911 census, then I would say, that her (step brother) James Moss, is sat on the left with his wife, Alice Madley behind him. Sat in the centre is Lily Davies, (eldest sister) and behind her, Diana Davies, (second eldest sister) and then sat on the right below *Mary (youngest sister), her first husband *Joseph Leonard Doman. Unfortunately I'll never know for sure. (Colourised Photo circa 1930]
Should this photo have been taken near to when *Mary and *Joseph married, on the 27th December 1930. Then their ages would have been, Bottom row: James 46, Lily 40, *Joseph 31. Top row: Alice 40, Diana 33 and *Mary 30.
