John and Catherine (Lloyd) Jones were my Great-great Grandparents.
William and Ann Ellison were my Great-great Grandparents too.
John Jones son John Lloyd Jones married William and Ann's daughter Harriet Ellison and they were my Great Grandparents.
John Lloyd Jones son John William Jones married Lucy Grubham from Doddenham, Worcestershire and they were my Grandparents.
There daughter Doris Eliza Jones married John Edward Holland and they were my mother and father.
John Jones was a Head Gardner and obviously taught his son John Lloyd Jones all about gardening. John Lloyd Jones is seen on some of the marriage certificates of his children as a Gardener / Landscaper.
The parents names were John Jones and Catherine Lloyd. I have wondered if at first they were not married and that Lloyd was the name of his mother and that is where he got his middle name from. This would have been the same for his elder sister Katherine Lloyd Jones. After this they probably married. Perhaps Katherine had been fostered originally.

Here John Jones is living at the Boat House. It gives his occupation as gardener, he was probably a gardener at Calverhall. All the following Census' show him as Gardener on that Estate.
John Jones was the Gardner at Cloverley Hall Estate and in later Census' he is entered as either Head Gardener or Forester. In this census it gives his birth place as Ruthen, in 1861 he says Tranorchick but all others after that say Tremeirchion.
At Calverhall Church we found a gravestone with Thomas Lloyd, beloved son of John and Catherine Jones of Cloverley, who died 6th September, 1854 aged 2 years. Below this inscription was one to Lizzie, their daughter. We could not read any more information as it had all crumbled away. Perhaps Lizzie was the Elizabeth in the 1861 census.
My Grandfather, John Lloyd Jones was Christened on the 22nd November 1857 at Calverhall, Shropshire.

In this 1861 census of John Jones' family there are four children. two boys and two girls.
John Lloyd Jones (my great grandfather) is shown as Loyd Jones. Also it says he is born at Oswestry but all other census' exhibit Corra or Prees!
Sarah Jones the eldest child is not mentioned in any of the other census'.
Thomas A, the A is for Arthur. In the 1871 Census it just says Arthur, then in 1881 it says Thomas Arthur. On a gravestone at Calverhall it says Arthur Thomas Jones. They all refer to the same person.

In this 1871 census of John Jones' family there are nine children. Six boys and three girls. John Lloyd Jones (my great grandfather) was the eldest. There were also twins, Mark and Watkin Jones.
Alice, Edwin, Mark, Watkin, Agnes and Andrew are all children born into the family, since the 1861 Census.
Sarah Jones who would now be 17 years old (7 years old on 1861 Census) is not on this census. She had either left home to work, or married, or perhaps died.
