  Pub Group with my Dad

Dad, John Edward Holland loved a drink! He also smoked (mostly Woodbines). In this group outside the pub he seems to stand out with cigarette in mouth and hands in his pockets. If you roll over the picture with your mouse he stands out even more! Not sure which pub this was, may be The Flying Horse at Knightwick or the Wagon Wheel at Alfrick. Both pubs are now houses.

Dad also played for the Broadwas-on-Teme Football Club. This photograph was taken at the end of the 1935-36 season. From the left, back row: Tom Delahay, Tom Bosward, Herbert Rickets, Ted Holland, Dick Holmes and Albert (Toddler) Rickets; front row: Jack Spencer, Harry Knight, Ivor Griffiths, Bob Holmes and Sid Ganderton. Dad played in goals and was still playing for Knightwick into his fifties.

  Cricket Team Broadwas

Dad in cricket togs

Dad is standing outside my Uncle Frank and Aunty Amy's house at Broadwas garage.

Dad also played cricket. I think this shows him in a photograph with his team players, probably at Broadwas.

Dad played cricket for Broadwas and may have just been at a match when this photo was taken.
