My mum, Doris (Jones) Holland and her friend Mrs. Hiams, outside the fruit canning factory at Martley. During the war women not only worked as land girls but in this instance they were involved in the provision of food for the army and for our country. Previously I had been told that they worked at a munitions factory at Martley but have not found any information to corroborate this.
