My mum, Doris (Jones) Holland is 8th from the left behind the front row and her friend Mrs. Hiams is 10th from the left. At first I had been told that all the girls worked at a Munitions Factory and were Munitionettes, I have since done some research and have not found any information relating to this, this doesn't mean that it wasn't one. What I have found was a photograph taken inside a factory at Martley with girls wearing the same outfits as those in this photo and called 'Women at a fruit canning factory at Martley'. I believe the factory could well have been Lusty's. In the distance you can see Berrow's Green Hill and so I know that they were by the buildings that still contain factory units used today.
