The photograph on the left shows Mabel Grubham, her parents were my Great uncle Harry and Great aunt Alice. Mabel was Born:12th November, 1908 and Baptised: 20th December 1908 at Knightwick Church, Worcestershire (by the Rector, J. B. Wilson) At the time the family lived at Darby's Common and her father was a labourer. Mabel looks about 13 years old making this photo circa 1921. Mabel is holding a flag with a Song Thrush on it which I am sure may be of interest to any guides in the area today.

To the right is another photo, this time of my mother Doris (Holland) Jones, in girl guide uniform and her cousin Mabel (Ganderton) Hayward, in brownies uniform. Mabel lived at Knightwick Post Office for a number of years with her younger sister Doris and my mother also Doris. When she grew up she married Sydney Ganderton and they lived at Stoney-Ley in Broadwas with their family and my mother married Ted Holland and carried on running the Post Office after my grandfather retired.

Mum's father John Jones, was Mabel Hayward's uncle and mum's mother Lucy (Grubham) Jones, was Mabel Grubham's auntie.
