William and Ann Holland were my great-great grandparents.
My Great-grandfather *John Holland was their eldest son. He married Jane Ingram on 24th July, 1870. Jane was the daughter of William and Mary Ingram, her father William's occupation was Journeyman Jeweller.
Their son (my Grandfather) John Holland married Rose Rouse on the 8th February, 1897. Rose was the daughter of Edward and Rose Rouse, her father Edward's occupation was Labourer.
And their son (my Dad) John Edward Holland married (my Mum) Doris Eliza Jones on the 16th April, 1938. Dad worked first on the railways and then as a Postman.
Dad always known as Ted Holland was not born until the 19th December, 1909, and will appear on the 1911 Census, with his parents John and Rose Holland.
My dad is shown here as Edward John Holland but he always signed his name as John Edward Holland.
Dad also had a brother William who we never knew about. I also didn't know his sister Lilian.
