Pitt, and Daughter of the Rev'd
John Medens (Recter of Knightwick
With Dodingham) she Departed this
Life September 17th, 1786. Aged 81 Years.
Also lies the Remains of Henrietta,
Daughter of Benjamin, and Rebeca
Pitt, she Departed this Life July 1st,
1759. Aged 11 Years.

 

 

John Medens, married Catherine, in Worcester,
c. 1699; they had at least two daughters.

Rebecca Medens, married Benjamin Pitt, on
November 5th, 1747, at Knightwick. [Her given
name then, was Rebecca Hinksman]

Their daughter, Henrietta was Baptised,
5th August, 1748, at Knightwick.

 


More information re. Rev'd John Medens

Rebecca, the daughter of John Medens Cleric, and Catherine his wife, was baptized, 24th February, 1707.

Augusti. Evardum filius sub ipso Altari sepulta est.
[Katharina, wife of Johannes Medens, Rector; and Edward the son was buried under the altar itself]

John Medens Rector of Knightwick was buried, 30th August, 1734.

An account of the Goods of Knightwick-church taken, June 6, 1732.

1. A Damask tablecloth marked "John Medens A.M. Rector 705."

2. One Damask napkin, and two flaxen napkins.

3. One woolen carpet for the Communion-tabl, green, lined with coars linen.

4. One Pulpit-cloth, & cushion, purpl.

5. One surplice, & one Master's hood of crimson & black silk.

6. One patin, one xalice marked on the outside "Knightwick chalice 1676," silver, with a silver cover.

7. One pewter-flagon, & a small pewter plate for Offerings.

8. One large knife with an Agat handl given by Mr. Clent to cut the bread for the Sacrament, & a botl skrew.

9. One large Bibl, one old Common prayer book, a book of Canons
&c, a book for the three extraordinary services, Mr. Ailway's Charity-book, and a very good vellum Register.

10. One Terrair, and a copy of Mr. Ailway's Wil, beside that annexed to the old Register.

11. An earthen water pot for the Font. And a twigen basket.
