Oddfellows Arms - Carden Street

The Oddfellows Arms in Carden Street opened its doors in 1870 and finally shut in 1964. I feel sure both my grandfather and his son (my dad) Ted Holland would have used this public house. The Holland family lived at no. 20 and also no. 38 Carden Street, originally starting off living in Sherborne Street, Birmingham, in the 1901 Census, they moved to and were at 2 Beaver Row, Wyldes Lane, Worcester, in the 1911 Census. When Dorothy and Gertrude Holland married their address was 20 Carden Street. When Hilda, Minnie and Ivy married their address was 38 Carden Street. Dad would have been at these addresses too, but when he married mum on the 16th April 1938, his address was Post Office Knightwick, Worcestershire.
