This is the bridge by Knightwick Station, the young boy is walking down Hill Road towards Bates Bush, where the person who took this photo would have been standing.

Superstitions linger here, including a horrible reminiscence of a "man without a head," and "something like a black pig," seen occasionally at Bate's Bush, where a poor suicide was once transfixed with a stake!

I'm not sure about that version but John Foot always said that a man hanged himself there and on dark nights you would see him walking around the triangle where the Knightwick to Alfrick road cuts into Hill Road from both directions. Needless to say we didn't go walking there at night!!
