I love this postcard of Knightwick. I'm pretty sure that it is a photograph that has been coloured in. If you look closely at the Almshouse roof, there are ladders against it and a man is working near the chimney. I would love to think that this one of my relations and perhaps it's my great grandfather Philip Grubham, because I know he and his son Albert helped build them. When I was a young boy the Nurses House on the right of this card was occupied by the District Nurse, Elizabeth O'Brien and when she retired her sister and husband Major Money came to live there. After both my parents had died and Mr and Mrs Money had also died the Post Office came here for a time, before eventually and sadly the village lost the Post office for ever.
