Knightwick Station opened in1874 and was sighted largely to satisfy the demands of Mr Francis C. Williams, who had petitioned against the 1861 Bill.

It had a Pooley Weighbridge and a 30cwt crane, which can be seen in the photograph, probably about to be used to load the lorry below it.

Further down the line is the little shed used for controlling the points, allowing trains in and out of the goods yard.

Among a number of stationmasters at Knightwick, were Thomas Harley in 1884, John Morris in 1895, Allan Preece in 1879 William Barnett in 1904, Thomas Lewis in 1912, S. J. Protheroin 1916, then Fred Jones and finally Eric Palmer 1962.
