Oliver Davies I knew, he was a very upright man and did many things for both Broadwas and Knightwick. As children we did at times make his life difficult, like when we did silly things, around the village.

Apart from that he was very good to all of us and had a great influence on our lives. In the Knightwick choir photo, I am stood between the Taylor twins, and my sister is behind me top right.

Mary Walker on the left was a great help to us all teaching us about singing in our choir practices, where she played the organ.

In the Broadwas photo, Miss Daniel can be seen top right, she also played the organ and all the services she attended never missing any of them.

Miss Daniel was one of my teachers at Broadwas School.

Also in the Broadwas photo Oliver's wife Doris is stood next to him, and their daughter Margaret is standing below Miss Daniel.

Oliver and his family lived at the Rectory in Broadwas, the village hall was behind and it was there that he would help run the youth club.

When he retired it was a sad day for all the people; for he was not only their rector, but also did much for their community.

Doris Gwendoline Mary Leeke was born on May 25, 1909, in Tonypandy, Glamorgan.
Their marriage was on the 4th August, 1940, in Bacton, Herefordshire.

Oliver Davieswas born, 14th October, 1904, in Trealaw, Glamorgan, Wales, to Margaret (Maggie) Sarah Rees, and James Evan Davies.
His brother Ivor was born 12th August, 1907, in Trealaw, Glamorgan, Wales.
In the 1911 census Oliver Davies was living in Rhondda, Glamorgan, Wales.
His mother died 29th November, 1934, in Trealaw, Glamorgan, Wales, at the age of 58.
in the 1939 Register Oliver was living in Glamorganshire, Wales.
Oliver Davies married Doris Gwendoline Mary Leeke in Bacton, Herefordshire, England, on August 4, 1940.
His father James Evan passed away on the 7th September, 1941, in Trealaw, Glamorgan, Wales, at the age of 67.
His brother Ivor died 16th April, 1962, in Tonypandy, Glamorgan, Wales.
His wife Doris Gwendoline Mary passed away on 26th April , 1984, in Worcester, at the age of 74. [married 43 years]
Oliver Davies died 16th May, 1994, in Worcester.
