ON THE south side of this Monument
Lie the mortal remains of CATHERINE,
wife of the late JEFFREYS WILKINS
of the Priory Brecon, and Daughter of the late
Revd. GREGORY PARRY Prebendary of Worcester.
She died at Swansea on the 21st May 1827 in her 71st year
surrounded by her children and with a smile on her
placid face. She was in spirit and in faith a Christian
and went about doing good. If evry Christian lived and died
As She did, Christ's Kingdom would indeed become; and God's will would be done on Earth, as it is in HEAVEN.

St. Gwynno's Church, *Vaynor, Merthyr Tydfil.

This 'Old' Vaynor Church dates back to 1295 making it 725 years old. It sits derelict in the woods close to the 'New' Church, which was built in 1870, paid for by Richard Thompson Crawshay.

Llandefaelog Fach, where Gregory Parry was born is just slightly north of Brecon, and 21 miles north of Vaynor, where he was the vicar in 1749.

From here he went to Andover in Hampshire, where he marrried his second wife and had their five children from 1751 to 1764.

By 1772 they had moved to Worcester, and he was a prebendary.

A prebendary is a member of the Roman Catholic or Anglican clergy, a form of canon with a role in the administration of a cathedral or collegiate church. When attending services, prebendaries sit in particular seats, usually at the back of the choir stalls, known as prebendal stalls.

During the following years he was the vicar of Knightwick.
