Knightwick Sanatorium, pre 1945.

a view of some of the rooms where the patients would live and here you can see some of them taking the air on the long veranda. Many years later when the TB Hospital was closed it became know as the Sunningdale estate and I used to deliver papers there and well remember walking along this veranda posting the papers to the people who lived there in temporary accommodation.

In this photo the sun appears to be breaking through on what appears to be a cold winter or early spring day, even so the lady nearest appears to have a smile on her face, given the dire times.
