Ettingshall Camp Party, at Knightwick, 1913.

Photograph
1913 (Many thanks to Major [Retd] Janet Brodie-Murphy) showing Ettingshall Camp Party, at Knightwick. What was the occasion?

ETTINGSHALL, is a hamlet in Sedgley parish and a chapelry in Sedgley and Wolverhampton parishes, Stafford. The hamlet lies near the Birmingham and Stafford railway, 2 miles SSE of Wolverhampton; and has a station, of the name of Ettingshall Road, on the railway, and a post office under Wolverhampton.

I found an interesting bit of text below on the web, so may be this was what it was all about and may be some of these names refer to those in this photo.
