I found the article below, and wonder if this had
anything to do with the C.C.; K.B. Club; and Charities,
seen on many of these notes?

KNIGHTWICK AND DODDENHAM.

DIOCESAN MILLION SHILLINGS FUND.

A meeting for the consideration of this fund was held in the schoolroom on Wednesday night,
and was very numerously attended, among those present being the Rev. J. B. Wilson (Rector) in
the chair, Mrs. Wilson, and Mr. T. B. Wilson, Rev. A. K. Bowstead, Rev. R. N. Kane, Rev. C. T.
Powell, Dr. J. H. and Mrs. Greensill, Mr. T. Huband, Mr. and Mrs. T. Lawson Walker, Mrs. E. Morris,
Miss Mary Moore, Mr. George Porter, Mr. John Williams (Highfields), Mr. A. T. Williams, Mr and Mrs.
T. A. Browning. Mr. Overy, Miss Griffin, the Misses Price, Miss Miles, Messrs. Corbett, Matt.
Morgan, R. Hurren, Mr. and Mrs. E. Nicholas, Mr. and Mrs. T. Turner, Mr. and Mrs. P. Grubham, Mrs.
R. Grubham, Mrs. Jones, Mrs. Higgins, Mrs. Wood, an many others. The Chairman explained the
object of the meeting and of the funds which it was hoped would be raised by a great united
effort on the part of Churchmen and Churchwomen of the diocese. The Rev. C. T. Powell then
delivered an interesting and eloquent address on the great necessity there was for raising such
funds in the diocese of Worcester, and gave many examples and details of the ways which were
being adopted for collecting the money. Many questions were asked, and the whole subject
was very favourably received by those present, several of whom volunteered their services as
collectors; and it was further agreed that a committee, consisting of the collectors and the
Rector, the latter of whom will act as treasurer, should be entrusted with the general
management of the scheme as far as these parishes are concerned. At the conclusion of the
meeting many promises of contributions were received by the collectors.
