A photo at Knightwick showing the AA box which was sited on the opposite corner to the Talbot Hotel, where the road passes through to Ankerdine Farm. This is possibly the 1950's-60's looking at the car on its way up the Ankerdine Hill. The Telephone Kiosk is standing just off the pavement and against the railing of Alan Morris's garden. One of my father's jobs was to clean the inside once a week and empty the money box. St. Mary's Church can be seen with the, Cherry and Apple Orchards behind it. When I was younger I always remember walking up the road to Ankerdine Farm and onwards to Horsham where each year there used to be the Point to Point races held. The farm workers would coppice the woods and this wood was used to make the fences that the horses jumped over. Lots of people used to go in those days and it was always a great success.
