The Coat of arms above has an eagle, but if you look at the Tomb Stones on the right, the arms show a lion. The chevron still has the three stars.

These Tomb stones are either side of the Altar, in the Chancel at Broadwas Church.

As you view them , the top is facing west and the bottom to the east on the floor of the Chancel.

To read them you have to face West with your back to the East wall of the Chancel.

The left one is of Sarah Roberts [south/east]
The right of Rev. Henry Roberts [north/east]

Unfortunately it is impossible to read everything on these Tomb Stones. However the Monument of the Roberts family at the top of this page, which can be found on the North wall of the Chancel, says that the whole family are interred hear.

The Will of Rev. Henry Roberts, Droitwich.

Broadwas Charities:
In 1775 the Rev. Henry Roberts, by his will, left £2 yearly to the poor at Christmas. The legacy is represented by £66 13s. 4d. consols with the official trustees, producing £1 13s. 4d. yearly, which is distributed in money doles to about twenty-eight recipients.

In 1797 Sarah Roberts, by her will, gave £5 yearly to the poor, to be distributed on New Year's Day. The legacy is represented by £166 13s. 4d. consols with the official trustees, producing £4 3s. 4d. yearly, which is distributed in money doles to about thirty-two recipients.

An explanation for this family being part of Broadwas Church and Village history is unfortunately not available. I do think that they may well have had something to do with Droitwich salt mining, which may then show how they gained their wealth. [see below]
