Broadwas Church - East Window.

This view of the east window clearly shows a wonderful example of stained glass, with the story of Jesus Christ from the conception and birth, through to his death on the cross and his ascension in to Heaven.

Here are the words in each window, left to right bottom and then left to right above that, in bold text.

 

The announcement of the Incarnation by the angel Gabriel to Mary (Luke 1:26–38).
And the angel came in to her and said.

Hail, thou that art highly favoured,
the Lord is with thee.

Luke 1:28

The Nativity
The birth of Jesus, in Bethlehem, in Judea.

Unto you a child this day in
the City of David a Saviour.

Luke 2:11

Jesus is baptised by John in Jordan.
And there came a voice from heaven saying.

Thou art my beloved Son in
Thee I am well pleased.

Mark 1:11

Jesus at the marriage in Cana.
Turns water in to wine.

This beginning of miracles did
Jesus in Cana of Galilee.

John 2:11

Then an angel appeared to Him from Heaven Strengthening Him.
The Prayer in the Garden.

Being in an agony he prayed more earnestly.
Luke 22:44

Jesus on the Cross.
The Death of Jesus at Golgotha.
[INRI on the cross stands for "lesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum"
"Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews".

It is finished.
John 19:28

For an angel of the Lord descended from heaven,
and came and rolled back the stone.

He is not here, He has risen.
Luke 24:6

The stone is pulled back and the tomb is empty.
Jesus talks to Mary Magdalene.

Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not.
John 20:17

In the quatrefoil above this, Jesus sits on his throne, with the words.
