A wonderful old photograph/card (Many thanks to Garston Phillips) showing the Mill and Weir at Knightwick.

I never saw this, the weir was demolished and hardly any of the mill existed when I was a young boy. I knew it as the Old Mill and John Foot and his family lived there. John married Olive Lewis and I think it was her family that had originally run the mill.

Looking at this photo I can now see that the weir was in such a position that it made a mill pond there. My friend Tony Parsons (Doctor at Knightwick) lived below here and I often saw him swimming near by. He also loved fly fishing and caught many a Grayling or Trout on fly rods in this part of the river.
