A wonderful old photograph/card (Many thanks to Garston Phillips) showing the old Knightwick bridge
. Two men are standing on it, maybe they were checking out the fishing conditions or just looking at the flood debris.

Looking at the scene, it looks like there has been floods, and debris from this has stuck around the centre stanchion, with uprooted trees to the right caught up in the embankment.

This photo shows the bridge at an early stage, as later the centre stanchion was rebuilt with bricks and there were metal supports added to allow for the heavier traffic.

Eventually even this bridge became defunct at the end of the 1950's when the new by-pass and bridge was built and a footbridge was built to replace this one.
