HISTORY INFORMATION

 

Worcestershire Regiment
On the outbreak of 1914/18 War the 5th and 6th Militia Battalions at Norton Barracks, Worcestershire, mobilized
and moved to the Plymouth area where they acted as a holding unit and carried out re-training of officers and men who
had recovered from their wounds.

The Depot mobilized the reservists and sent them to the 2nd and 3rd Battalions at Aldershot and Tidworth respectively.
The Depot expanded and continued the training of recruits throughout the War.
